Greenway Flow improves the Lafitte Greenway and adjacent communities by reducing flooding and extreme heat temperatures, creating safe bike/pedestrian connections, and supporting legacy residents/businesses.
Greenway Flow is a holistic neighborhood revitalization strategy centered around the Lafitte Greenway, a 2.6 mile linear park and shared-use trail connecting 6 historic neighborhoods in New Orleans.
The project will include nature-based stormwater management features to significantly reduce flooding/property damage and reduce extreme heat temperatures in adjacent neighborhoods, grow the City’s network of safe/accessible shared-use trails, and support legacy residents and businesses to ensure equitable economic development and cultural continuity.
The Greater New Orleans Foundation drives positive impact through philanthropy, leadership, and action throughout Southeast Louisiana. We help address the biggest challenges facing the place we love, so that we can improve the everyday lives of people that live in the region—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
